Welcome to the reading of your will! On the occasion of the funeral service for the wealthy owner of the castle, Lord Ashtonburry, relatives and friends gather at the Ashtonburry family’s ancestral home. Lady Asthonburry, the grieving widow, greets the invited guests in the dining room of Darkwood Castle, a time-honored manor house in Scotland, for the funeral reception and the reading of the will. But what happens in the course of the delicious 4-course meal hints at mysterious entanglements. The investigation into the case brings long-kept family secrets and intrigues to light and culminates in mutual suspicions. Who did the Lord favor in his will and who will go away empty-handed? Did the Lord really die of natural causes or did he stumble across his rapacious nephew, his illegitimate daughter – or does Lady Ashtonburry herself have something to hide?
